PM E-DRIVE is India’s central electric mobility support scheme. For charging infrastructure, the subsidy is focused on deployment of EV Public Charging Stations, Battery Swapping Stations and Battery Charging Stations through approved implementation mechanisms.
The scheme includes support for public EV charging infrastructure. Buyers should understand whether their project is eligible before committing capex.
Support can depend on the location category. Upstream infrastructure means transformer, LT/HT cables, protection equipment, civil works and DISCOM-linked work.
Subsidy is not a discount coupon on charger purchase. It is subject to proposal route, technical eligibility, documentation, verification, commissioning and final approval.
